Requests To Purchase
We welcome active patrons of the Spanish Peaks Library District to recommend items for purchase.
A few tips for submitting requests:
Please include as much information as you are able: title, subject matter, author or ISBN. These are valuable in helping us find your book. Also, if you are requesting a subject search, please give us as much detail as you can.
We usually order new materials near the first of the month and out-of-print items four to six times a year; so, depending on the availability of the item, it may be between a week and eight weeks before an item is available. If you need an item by a certain date, please make sure to order early and make a note in the comments field.
We keep about 70 popular authors on "standing order." These books arrive a day or two before release dates and are available at the library on the same day they're available in bookstores. If you want the upcoming release of your favorite author, submit a request early; hold requests are processed in the order in which they are received, and we rarely order more than one copy of a new book.
Amazon.com usually has very accurate release date information in the "Product Details" section, about halfway down a book's description page. If you have a question about when a book will be available, please call - we'll be glad to help.
If for some reason (usually availability, cost, or expected continuing value to other patrons) we elect not to purchase the item, we would be glad to order it as an Interlibrary Loan instead.
Please send E-mail request to: rtp@spld.org (please include "Requests-To-Purchase" in the subject area)
NOTE: If you are not a patron of the Spanish Peaks Library District, come by and fill out a library card application form.
