  1. Where does the weather data come from?
  2. The weather station is located on a hill on the North side of the town. The elevation of the station is approximately 235 feet above downtown. Full METAR and GEO data will be available soon.
  3. Who owns the weather station?
  4. The weather station is privately owned.
  5. How long has the weather station been on-line?
  6. The weather station was installed in January of 2006. Data from the weather station was made available to the library beginning in October of 2006.
  7. Can I access the weather station directly from my computer?
  8. No. The weather station is actually part of a private network with no access to the Internet. Special scripts are used to provide the weather data to the library web server.
  9. What type of weather station is it?
  10. It is a LaCrosse 2310 weather station. The wind and temperature sensors are mounted in permanent enclosures. The weather station itself is connected to a computer on-site that reads the weather station data about every 10 seconds and logs the data to the database server located at Spanish Peaks Information Systems.
